Jagdeo was born on January 23,1964. He became president on March 19, 2001. He
was born on January 23, 1964 in Unity Village, East Coast of Demerara. He
entered politics at the age of 13. His mother had six children including
him. He was a part of the People's Progressive Party. His work was of
high quality in primary and secondary school. He taught geography and history at
